Back in the day, no ski outfit was complete without my Turtle Fur "Turtle Neck". My 10 year old self would be squealing with joy to know I would eventually get to partner with this beloved brand. Its especially sweet knowing Turtle Fur is female and Vermont founded as well!
Since 1982, Turtle Fur®, which is also B Corp Certified, has been a leading outdoor headwear and accessories brand in the outdoor, snow sports, and lifestyle markets. When Turtle Fur reached out to BirdieBlue about upcycling deadstock fabrics, we immediately said YES.
It all started with a visit to the Turtle Fur headquarters just up the road in Morrisville, VT. Inspiring doesn't even begin to describe the experience. We toured Turtle Fur's collection of deadstock, misprinted, and miscut fabrics. I felt like a kid in a candy store. So. Many. Prints. So many ideas on how to work together to keep clothes and fabrics out of landfills to create something unique that fosters joy where ever your adventures take you. As a small (but mighty and growing ;-)) start-up, it means so much to have larger brands open doors, provide a platform, and believe in our mission.
