Next up Birdie is strapping on our xc skis for the Tour de Stowe
Sponsored by NENSA (New England Nordic Skiing Association), The Tour de Stowe is a non-competitive classic technique ski tour taking place on the gorgeous trails of Trapp Family Lodge and Stowe Mtn Resort cross-country centers.
The courses will start and end at the Trapps Outdoor Center. The 25km course will be a loop and there will be a 15 km cutoff for those who prefer the shorter distance. The 5 km short course is for K-6th graders with treats at the finish. Also at the finish, a Festive Expo is planned with representatives from some great Nordic related companies, including BirdieBlue!
We are then headed back up to Maine for NENSA's fan favorite, Women's XC Ski Day.
Hosted at Inland Woods and Trails in Bethel, Maine, Women’s XC Ski Day chooses a non-profit women’s organization to benefit, and gathers as many participants as it can for a day of cross country skiing which includes lunch and a raffle. The highlight of the day is learn-to-ski clinics with women instructors; the emphasis being on relaxed, fun learning in a supportive and encouraging environment. All ability, skill, and experience levels are welcome. In addition to this event being open to all women, we also encourage and support the participation of nonbinary people who are comfortable in a space that centers the experience of women. NENSA hopes that Women’s XC Ski Day helps bring more folks together to enjoy this wonderful sport.
We hope to see you at one of these events! And we wish you all of the #birdieblueadventures in 2024!
